BULK SUPPLY PRICE W.E.F. 01.04.2008

In exercise of the powers conferred under section 86(1)(b) and other related provisions
of the Electricity Act, 2003, the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission has passed an order
on 20.03.2008 in Case No. 61/2007 with regard to determination of Bulk Supply of Price of
Grid Corporation of Orissa Limited (GRIDCO), effective from 01.04.2008, for procurement of
power by WESCO, NESCO, SOUTHCO & CESU strictly for supply of power to the State
consumers.
The GRIDCO hereby publishes the Schedule of Bulk Supply Price as below.

- Bulk Supply Price
This Price is applicable for supply of power to a Distribution and Retail Supply Licensee for resale. The total charges payable by a DISTCO shall be calculated by summation of following charges mentioned in Para (A) to (F) below as applicable for supply of power on and after 01.04.2008 until further order.
(A) Energy charges: The monthly energy charges on the energy supplied by GRIDCO to
Distribution companies/utilities shall be as follows: -
Western Electricity Supply Company of Orissa, Ltd. - 157.25 paise per KWH
North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Orissa Ltd. - 125.00 paise per KWH
Southern Electricity Supply Company of Orissa, Ltd. - 70.00 paise per KWH
Central Electricity Supply Utility - 101.50 paise per KWH
(B) Charges for Overdrawl of Energy: Any excess drawl of energy by a Distribution
and Retail Supply Licensee would be payable at the actual cost of power purchase
plus transmission charges and transmission loss subject to necessary changes due to
implementation of intra-state ABT.
(C) Charges for Overdrawl of demand: There shall not be any levy of separate
maximum demand charges upto the permitted SMD for the distribution companies for
the FY 2008-09. Permitted SMD would mean monthly SMD recorded upto maximum
of 10% over the approved SMD in the current tariff order to take care of monthly
variations. Any excess drawl over the permitted SMD will have to be paid @Rs.200
per KVA per month. This is again subject to the condition that the annual average
SMD shall be limited to the SMD permitted in the order. Any drawl over and above
the annual average SMD will be payable @Rs.200 per KVA per month,
notwithstanding the fact that a utility might have paid the SMD charges for exceeding
the permitted SMD in any month.
(D) Rebate: For payment of bills through a letter of credit on presentation/upfront
by cash within two working days, a rebate of 2% shall be allowed. If the
payments are made by a mode other than through a letter of credit but within a
period of one month of presentation of bills, by the Distribution Licensees, a
rebate of 1% shall be allowed.
(E) Late Payment Surcharge: In case payment of bills by the licensees is delayed
beyond a period of 1 month from the date of billing, a late payment surcharge at
the rate of 1.25% per month shall be levied by GRIDCO.
(F) Duty and Taxes: The Commission approves that statutory
levy/duty/tax/cess/toll imposed under any law from time to time shall be
charged over and above the price fixed by the Commission.
- The Bulk Supply Price in respect of GRIDCO for procurement of power by WESCO, NESCO, SOUTHCO & CESU strictly for supply of power to the State consumers will become effective from 1st April 2008 and shall continue until further order.
